Year 2017 in Review
It has been a great first year for SevenFour Artistry (SFA). 2017 was a year for expanding knowledge and building a community; learning what that community loves and building a network of venues and artists who share the same vision as a SFA.
This year we were honored to help modern melodic progressive rock band, BRAVE, secure the opening slot for former Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate. This was a welcome challenge for BRAVE. The Geoff Tate tour was an acoustic show, requiring Brave to play unplugged for the first time in their history. They gained many new fans that night as well as praise from the Geoff Tate camp.
SFA also provided support to acclaimed violinist and pop star Lindsey Stirling for her current 2017 tour. In each city of the tour she requested an 8 piece string orchestra, comprised of musicians between the ages of 14-18, to accompany her for a portion of her performance. They reached out to SFA and we recruited students, current and alumni, from James H. Blake High School in Montgomery County, MD and one violinist from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
We also made our presence known at several concerts in the DMV including King Crimson, Brand X, and Snarky Puppy. And we were in attendance in Atlanta, Georgia for the 18th annual ProgPower USA, a four-day progressive metal festival featuring the debut of Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress. ProgPower USA was also the unveiling of the first SevenFour Artistry t-shirt. The first one worn was signed by Mike Portnoy himself! ( Email us if interested in purchasing an SFA shirt.)
2018 is looking even better for SFA with several exciting things already lined up, to be be announced later. So thank you all for your support; it is much appreciated.
